From Grocery to Bistro Owner in Austin
Steph Steele has always kept food at the center of her journey. After 24 years at Whole Foods Market, including leading the flagship store, her vision grew to bring something more personal to the community. A love for service, quality, and good food inspired the creation of a place where people gather and enjoy French cuisine.
Building on Experience and Community
In 2015, Steph Steele returned to school and earned a degree in Organizational Leadership and Communication. Her time with Bunkhouse taught the value of design, hospitality, and attention to detail. Projects like Swedish Hill showed how every choice shapes a space where people want to gather.
A Dream Realized in Austin
On March 8, 2021, Steph opened Tiny Grocer on South Congress. That success became the foundation for a bigger vision in Hyde Park. Bureau de Poste was created as a neighborhood bistro where food, wine, and connection come together in a space that feels local, warm, and welcoming.
Why Visit Bureau de Poste
Bureau de Poste is more than a place to eat. Years of experience in food, service, and design shaped every detail of this bistro. The mission is to bring people together and create a true community space. Every dish reflects a passion for French food and hospitality, inviting all of Austin to be part of the story.
